Smooth Sailing Ahead – Property Title Deeds Faster and Easier!

Drastic measures are been taken to fix this national issue in the real estate market and to improve the flow and process of real estate transactions here in Cyprus.
Interior Minister Constantinos Ioannou recently shared some fantastic news about the property Title Deeds process. Thanks to significant improvements, waiting times are getting slashed from potentially years to just three months – now that’s progress!
Speaking at a seminar hosted by the Pan-Cyprian Association of Land Development and Construction Entrepreneurs, Ioannou emphasized the government’s dedication to creating a friendlier environment for development, a commitment made clear since June 2023.
Efforts are underway to simplify procedures both at the Department of Lands and Surveys and the department of town planning and housing. The goal? Making your life easier and fostering quicker development opportunities.
Ioannou acknowledged past delays and outlined objectives to introduce more flexible and faster procedures, ensuring unnecessary inconveniences are a thing of the past.
One exciting change involves a new procedure effective since January 2, 2024. It puts priority on pre-defined external demarcation and surveying work, meaning smoother evaluations without the constant need for extra documents. Talk about efficiency!
Ioannou also highlighted the importance of completing external demarcation before parcel division to prevent any potential disputes. Plus, the department of land and surveys is now partnering with private licensed surveyors, freeing up their time for other tasks and cutting down on delays.
With these changes, Ioannou is confident that property owners will see a significant reduction in processing time, making the journey to getting their Title Deeds a whole lot smoother and friendlier.
